STEKA

Developed together with the Japanese brand Mozambique with the ambition to create cookware that works in more than one setting. The starting point was to design a product that functions equally well in the kitchen as it does over an open fire.

The development process combined Scandinavian design principles with Japanese craftsmanship and manufacturing knowledge. Throughout the project, we worked with a clear focus on proportion, usability, and reduction, refining the product through continuous testing and evaluation.

A key aspect of the design is its long-term perspective. Instead of permanently fixing components together, handles are attached with screws rather than rivets, making them removable, adjustable, and replaceable over time. This allows the product to be maintained and adapted rather than discarded.

STEKA is the result of an ongoing collaboration between different design traditions, materials, and ways of making — shaped through use, iteration, and a shared ambition to create products with lasting relevance.
