Orto started with a familiar archetype: the classic orchestra chair. Not as a nostalgic reference, but as a starting point. We wanted to understand what still makes this typology relevant today.

Early in the process, we explored contrasts. Soft molded plywood surfaces that follow the body were paired with a frame built from flat planes, giving the chair its distinct, almost graphic expression.

Function was equally important. Orto stacks easily, hooks neatly onto the edge of a table and connects into long rows when needed.

The chair was also developed with logistics in mind. By dividing it into three parts, backrest, seat and legs, it can be shipped efficiently and assembled locally before reaching the end user.
