Design
ADDI has a great love for the threedimensional shape and the interaction with
the human. This meeting and the sense of three-dimensional shape is what characterizes and drives ADDI forward. With a design that is based on a Scandinavian voice but with influences from the 50′s naive futurism and the everyday surroundings ADDI delivers innovative products and sculptural furniture for a contemporary lifestyle.
ADDI is driven by a strong common vision to see past the surface and produce products which are not to be thrown away, and that successfully combines form and function to create a visual curiosity between user and product.
Work
We are obsessed with simple shapes and lines and tend to follow our instincts and impulses when we design. The result of this is a wide spectrum of projects and a broad line of creations. We get new ideas several times a day and often make quick simple sketches and pitch eachother to test our ideas. To get ideas out of our system, we have invented a ”Kill you darling-light” jar in our office. It helps us to stay focused and creates a good idea bank for future projects.
We love to question things, not just for the sake of questioning, but to test and provoke each other. When starting on a new project we want to find as many different angles as possible, and seek inspiration far from the subject area and topic. This often adds a new dimension to our work and leads us into something unexpected. Sometimes it’s worth a try, other times it’s simply just good to know that we thought about how not to do it. Constructive criticism is essential to us, and we strive to develop our understanding for the physical world and the impact of design.

Design
ADDI har en stor kärlek för form och formens möte med människan. Detta möte
och känslan för tredimensionell form är det som präglar och driver ADDI framåt.
Med ett formspråk som vilar på scandinaviska grunder med influenser av 50-talets
naiva framtidsfuturism och vardagens omgivning levererar ADDI innovativa produkter
och skulpturala möbler för samtiden. ADDI drivs av en stark gemensam vision att
se förbi yta och producera produkter som inte är till för att kastas och som på ett
framgångsrikt sätt kombinerar form och funktion för att skapa en nyfikenhet mellan
användare och produkt.
Arbetssätt
Vi är som besatta av enkla former och linjer och tenderar att följa våra instinkter
och impulser, vilket resulterar i en stor bredd på vårat skapande. Vi får nya idéer
flera gånger dagligen och göra ofta snabba enkla skisser och pitchar varandra för
att testa om de håller. För att få idèer som inte är aktuella ur vårat system har vi
uppfunnit en ”Kill you darling- light” burk på kontoret. Den hjälper oss att fokusera
och skapar en bra idèbank för framtida projekt.
Vi älskar att ifrågasätta, inte bara för ifrågasättandets skull utan för att testa och
provocera varandra. Inför ett nytt uppdrag vill vi hitta så många olika vinklar som
möjligt och vi söker ofta inspiration långt ifrån det aktuella området och ämnet.
Ofta resulterar det i en ny dimension i vårt arbete och leder oss in till något oväntat.
Ibland är det värt att prova, andra gånger är det helt enkelt bara bra att veta att vi
tänkt på hur det inte får bli och varför. Konstruktiv kritik är oerhört viktigt för oss
och vi strävar efter att fortsätta utveckla vår förståelse för den fysiska världen och
den påverkan som design och rumslighet har på oss människor.
